South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture (SLLC) hosted a programme of activities during Hamilton Park’s Community Race Day.
There were various stations set up across the Red Bar, South Paddock Lawn and tent area, as well as museum and library stations for families to enjoy.
The Red Bar was home to children’s tables which included Lego building, rosette making and library materials.
The South Paddock Lawn had active events such as Beat the Goalie, a Golf inflatable where young golf enthusiasts could practice their skills and small drums and percussion sessions.
There was face painting in the tent area, whilst the museum station was the history hub for the day with a selection of old photographs of the Racecourse as well as objects, toys, games and dress up to spark nostalgia and inspiration.
Youngsters also had the chance to design their own World Cup themed jersey at the library station.
Head of Business Development at SLLC, Martin Cryans, said: “It was a fantastic event that demonstrated what our organisation has to offer.
“We were thrilled that so many families attended and enjoyed themselves, taking part in a wide variety of activities.
“The feedback from staff and attendees was extremely positive and the day highlighted the value of collaborative community events.”
Racecourse Managing Director at Hamilton Park, Ashley Moon, said: “We were delighted to partner with South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture, whose fantastic programme of family-friendly activities, including storytelling, crafts, sports and interactive workshops, helped create a welcoming and engaging atmosphere throughout the day.
“Their support played a key role in making the raceday such a success, and it was wonderful to see so many families enjoying everything on offer.
“As we celebrate 100 years of racing on Bothwell Road, it was especially meaningful to host a day that highlighted the importance of giving back to the community that has supported Hamilton Park for generations.”
