A community group is to take over the long-term running of a hall following a successful lease period.
Coulter Community Trust has been granted a Community Asset Transfer (CAT) for Coulter Hall.
The Trust was formed for the public benefit of the community of Coulter with the purposes of the advancement of citizenship and community development.
Chair of the Trust, Malcolm Muir, said: “We are delighted that South Lanarkshire Council has approved the transfer of Coulter Hall into community ownership.
“This decision secures the future of our hall and gives Coulter Community Trust the opportunity to transform it into a vibrant, welcoming hub for the whole community.
“We are grateful for the support we have received and look forward to working with the council as we take the next steps.”
Executive Director of Housing and Technical Resources, Stephen Gibson, said: “This is great news for the community of Coulter, and I know the Trust will continue to build on the success they have already enjoyed through their lease period.”
