A new member of the council’s senior management team has been appointed.
Following a rigorous recruitment process, Kevin Carr has been appointed as Executive Director of Community and Enterprise Resources.
Kevin has been the council’s Head of Grounds and Waste Services since 2022.
The council’s Chief Executive Paul Manning said: “Kevin emerged from a very impressive list of candidates who were shortlisted for interview for this role. He has exceptional experience and clear leadership qualities, and I am fully confident that he will take forward our priorities in a key role that covers many diverse areas, including waste, roads, planning and economic development.”
Kevin began his local government career with South Lanarkshire Council and has since held senior leadership roles with South Ayrshire Council and Renfrewshire Council, gaining extensive experience across large, multi-disciplinary services and complex transformation programmes, before returning to South Lanarkshire in 2022.
Commenting on his appointment, Kevin said: “I am proud to be appointed to this role and to continue serving South Lanarkshire. Community and Enterprise Resources plays a vital role in supporting our communities, economy and environment, and I look forward to working with elected members, colleagues and partners to deliver positive outcomes for residents across the area.”
