Stairs to reopen at station
Published: Friday 14 November 2025
Work will take place in February next year to reopen the stairs to the platform at Burnside Station.
South Lanarkshire Council and Network Rail have agreed to share the cost of the work, which is scheduled for February 2026.
Council Leader Joe Fagan said: “We know how disruptive this staircase being closed has been to the public.
“I am delighted that through our partnership working with Network Rail we have a solution in place which will benefit everyone who uses the station.”
