Our Home+ programme is continuing to deliver much needed new council homes across South Lanarkshire.

Following the completion of 40 new homes at Jacktonhall in East Kilbride earlier this year, a further 56 new homes are also under construction at Newhouse Road in East Kilbride. These homes will provide a variety of house types including wheelchair accessible homes with ground floor bedrooms and bathrooms, larger family homes and cottage flats.

Work is also now well under way on the construction of 49 new homes at Brackenhill Farm in Hamilton, comprising of a range of different house types suitable for older people and families.

In Cambuslang, 17 new homes are at the final stages of construction on Dale Avenue and will deliver house types including flats and terraced houses in a central location.

Ground works have also started at our exciting new progressive housing development at Watson Street in Larkhall, with 19 new homes helping to meet a various housing and health needs.  You can read more about this development in SL View.

All homes currently being constructed are jointly funded by the council and the Scottish Government and aim to be completed either later this year or into 2026.

Stephen Gibson, Executive Director of Housing and Technical Resources said: “The council’s Home+ programme continues to deliver high quality, energy efficient homes in areas tenants and other customers tell us they wish to live. We are thrilled to see so many homes under currently construction, with many more still to come.”

In addition to the new build developments, the council’s Market Purchase Scheme continues to flourish with over 60 homes acquired from the private sector in priority areas this year to date.
