Join our newest recruits for a career in social care
Published: Wednesday 14 May 2025

The council is on the lookout for people who want a meaningful career helping the most vulnerable people in our communities.
Anyone wanting to support others whilst gaining a real sense of personal achievement should take advantage of the council’s Social Care recruitment drive and sign up and register for the latest career opportunities across South Lanarkshire.
The call comes as the latest group of social care recruits have been welcomed to their new careers with the council at an in-person event.
As new members of the South Lanarkshire University Health and Social Care for South Lanarkshire team, they were brought together to hear from and meet members of the leadership team and other key colleagues.
Professor Soumen Sengupta, Chief Officer of the University Health and Social Care Partnership, who was at the special event at Council Headquarters in Hamilton, said: “In South Lanarkshire we are committed to promoting opportunities for an extremely fulfilling and rewarding career in care.
“Our staff are the beating heart of our health and social care services, and so it was fantastic to welcome so many new and enthusiastic colleagues into our dedicated team.
“Social care staff, working together across a host of areas, continue to make a vital contribution to keeping individuals and families safe and well across all our communities.
“My thanks then to our teams for their dedication and professionalism, and to our service users and the public at large for their continued recognition and support for the work that they do.”
