Experience the unique sound of Hamilton Mausoleum

One of Scotland’s top choirs are set to take over Hamilton Mausoleum.
In a special one off musical event designed to showcase the unique, and world famous, acoustic properties of the monument Aberdeen Vocal Ensemble (AVE) is coming to the venue on Friday, 9 August at 2.30pm.
AVE is an 11 voice chamber group, comprised of recent music graduates and experienced singers from in and around Aberdeen.
The ensemble sing a variety of choral music ranging from 11th Century plain song to 21st Century contemporary commissions. They are conducted and directed by Sam Paul.
They will be bringing a specially created performance to the Mausoleum, with a show designed to show off the unique acoustics of the structure which famously held the record for the longest sustained echo in a building. It promises to be a musical treat not to be missed.
There will be a short talk about Hamilton Mausoleum followed by a performance by the Aberdeen Vocal Ensemble which will last approximately 45 minutes.
