Recognition for council, tenants and partners at national awards

Tenant representatives from the Housing Repairs Sub Group have been nominated for a prestigious award.
They have been shortlisted as finalists in the Excellence in Scrutiny Danny Mullen: Working in Partnership award at the Tenant Information Service (TIS) National Excellence Awards 2024.
Since 2008, the Repairs Sub Group has worked closely with the council to develop and improve how the repairs service is delivered to council tenants. Over the years the group has played a key role in driving forward key areas of work including the review and refresh of the ‘Tenant’s Guide to Repairs’ handbook, mystery shopping exercises to inform service improvement, and most recently the review of the Housing Repairs Policy.
Mary-Ann Patrick from the Repairs Sub Group said: "We have worked with the council for a long time with the shared aim of ensuring that tenants in South Lanarkshire receive the best possible repairs service. We are delighted that the work of the group has been shortlisted for this award."
The work of Housing Services and its partners has also been recognised by the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH). Three projects involving the council working with partner agencies have been shortlisted as finalists in their categories along with staff member, Jamie Morrow, Housing Assistant with the Homeless Access and Assessment Service, who has been shortlisted for the Young Achiever in Housing award.
Sharon Egan, Head of Housing Services, said: "I know that the work we are involved in, both as individual staff members and with partners makes a huge difference to our customers and communities.
"It’s very satisfying to see this recognised at a national level too."
