Essential repairs for rural road start next week
Published: Friday 9 August 2024
Improvements are to be made to a section of road around the village of Glespin.
Essential repairs will be made to the A70 between its junction with Andershaw Road and Kennox Road.
The road will be closed from Monday (12 August) at 7am for up to five days to allow carriageway surfacing work to take place.
No motor vehicles (except those engaged in the work and emergency service vehicles) will be able to park or drive on the road during this time.
The signed diversion route will be as follows: A70, B743, A71, B7078 and A70.
Head of Roads, Fleet and Transportation Servies, Colin Park, said: “We are aware of the disruption that this road closure will cause and hope that the long-term benefits will be valued.
“Your patience and understanding during the works would be much appreciated.”
