Prepare a new Local Place Plan for your area
Published: Wednesday 10 April 2024
A Local Development Plan (LDP) is being prepared by the council that will be shaped by the views and aspirations of communities.
Community groups across the area now have the chance to prepare their own Local Place Plan (LPP) which will give communities the opportunity to set out their ideas for the development and use of land in their local area.
As a starting point, communities who are thinking of preparing an LPP can complete the online form to register their interest.
More details on how to prepare a Local Place Plan are available on the council website.
Fraser Carlin, Head of Planning and Regulatory Services, said “Local communities now have a great opportunity to get directly involved in the future of their areas through the preparation of a Local Place Plan.
“This allows local people to think about how they can improve the quality of their areas and meet the needs of their communities.
“Even if a community decides not to prepare a plan for their area there will still be plenty of opportunities for people across South Lanarkshire to participate throughout the LDP process and tell us their views.”
