Wish List helps towards cost of minibus

A minibus to help a charity that provides childcare extend their services has almost arrived at its destination.
Childcare in the Community need £23,000 for the minibus and made a request to the Community Wish List for financial assistance. The group have raised £21,500 so far so are just £1,500 short of their target.
A M Phillip Trucktech responded to the request with a donation of £250.
Childcare in the Community is a not-for-profit organisation that provides a flexible mobile creche, nursery care and out of school care services for children from birth to 16 years of age, throughout the Hamilton area.
Manager of Childcare in the Community, Karen Shields, said: “We are delighted to have been chosen to receive funding from Community Wish List, this will mean so much for the children, young people, and families in our community.
“The funding will contribute towards the cost of our minibus.
“This will allow our organisation to extend our services in our community by providing further support to vulnerable children enabling them to take part in more diverse activities.
“At this time, we have over 100 children per day using our services and a minibus would allow us to offer extra places in the wider community giving children continuality of care.
“Furthermore, disadvantaged children who reside in this area of deprivation will be able to access opportunities for excursions.”

“The Community Wishlist gives us the confidence to know that our help is going directly to local groups who do fantastic work and gives us the knowledge that we in some small way, we contribute to their survival and ensuring they continue to make a difference.”
The Community Wish List is supported by South Lanarkshire Council’s Community Engagement Team.
Chair of the council's Finance and Corporate Resources Committee, Councillor Lesley McDonald, said: "This is another great example of the Community Wish List and the benefits it can bring to local communities and organisations.
