Community grants and warm welcome funding for local groups

Six local organisations are to share more than £2,700 following the latest Clydesdale Area Committee grant awards.
And 12 other groups received more than £11,000 in the Clydesdale Area in response to the Warm Welcome Initiative.
Under the community grants scheme:
- Clydesdale Community Gaelic Initiative, Lanark, received £800 for start-up costs, including materials, administration and publicity costs
- Coalburn Regeneration Group received £300 for start-up costs, including materials, administration and publicity costs
- Crawfordjohn Toddlers received £300 for start-up costs, including equipment
- Coalburn Homing Club received £300 for materials, administration and publicity costs
- Carnwath Primary School and Nursery Parent Council received £240 for equipment
- Rigside Community Nursery Committee received £800 for equipment
The following groups all received £1,000 under the Warm Welcome Initiative:
- Abington Community Development Group
- Greyfriars Parish Church, Lanark,
- Healthy Valleys, Clydesdale,
- Forth and District Development Trust
- Youth, Family and Community Learning, Lanark
- Forth and Wilsontown Bowling Club
- ISKCON Scotland, Lesmahagow
- Esteem Clydesdale, Lanark
- Kirkmuirhill Parish Church
- Carstairs Junction Welcome All Hub
- Forth Community Resource Steering Group
Universal Connections, Douglas received £600 under the Warm Welcome Initiative.
The purpose of the community grants scheme is to fund activities and projects which offer community benefit, and which bring those communities together to enjoy educational, recreational, leisure and other activities, or to improve the local environment.
Support can be provided for everything from outings and entrance fees to admin and start-up costs and special events. Applications are invited throughout the year and awards recommended for approval at each meeting of the relevant Area Committee.
