Improvements to be made to road in Clydesdale
Published: Friday 25 November 2022
Essential resurfacing works are to take place on a road in Clydesdale.
The A70 and A743 in Ravenstruther will be closed for three days from 7am on Monday 5 December between Silvermuir Road/Corbiehall Terrace and Ayr Road at No. 4 Westbank Holdings to allow the works to take place.
No motor vehicles (except those engaged in the work and emergency service vehicles) will be able to park or drive on the road during this time.
A signed diversion route will be in place via the A73, A706, A721 for the A70 traffic and A743, A706, A721 and A70 for the A743 traffic.
Chair of the council’s Community and Enterprise Resources Committee, Councillor Robert Brown, said: “We would urge all road users to take notice of this closure, plan ahead and allow extra time for travelling if you are affected by these essential works.
“We apologise in advance for any inconvenience they may cause, but I know local people will see a considerable benefit to the condition of the road when the works are complete.”
