Work with Gypsy/Travellers wins another top award
Published: Tuesday 4 October 2022

The council has won a prestigious public services award.
Housing and Technical Resources’ partnership work with the Gypsy/Traveller Community saw the Resource lift the Building Diversity and Inclusion Award at the Municipal Journal Achievement Awards 2022.
This award comes hot on the heels of the Resource winning a top Scottish public sector excellence award from COSLA in February 2022, which we reported in the last edition of Housing news.
Interim Director of Housing and Technical Resources, Annette Finnan, said: “Huge congratulations to all the team for winning this award – it is real testament to the hard work of everyone involved, including our residents. To win a national award is fantastic recognition for the work delivering consistently high levels of customer services to our two Gypsy/Traveller sites during the pandemic.”
Receiving the award on behalf of Housing and Technical Resources are (L-R): Clive Myrie, MJ Awards Host/BBC Presenter; Tommy Bennett, Gypsy/Traveller Resident; Pamela Newey, Housing Services Manager, SLC; Jonathan Read, Strategy and Policy Advisor, SLC; and Nancy Scott, GatenbySanderson (Category Sponsor).
