Nominations sought for Coalburn Community Council

Following a valid petition to form a Community Council for Coalburn, nominations to stand for election are still being accepted.
If you think you have what it takes to represent your local community then please complete this nomination form.
Any person on the Register of Electors, for the Coalburn area of the Community Council who seeks election to their Community Council, should lodge a completed, signed nomination form which should be counter signed by a proposer and seconder, both of whom should also be on the Register of Electors for this community council area. Please check the boundary map for this new community council.
Completed nomination forms should be emailed to communitycouncils@southlanarkshire.gov.uk or posted to Finance and Corporate Resources, Administration and Legal Services, Council Offices, Floor 2, Almada Street, Hamilton ML3 0AA no later than 4pm on Monday 25 July 2022.
The election will proceed in terms of South Lanarkshire Council's Scheme for the Establishment of Community Councils.
Nomination forms are also available from Administration and Legal Services as are the boundary map of the Coalburn Community Council area and the Scheme for the Establishment of Community Councils. You can also call 01698 454196 to request these.
In the event of more nominations being received than vacancies available, an election will be arranged and held at a future date. Notification of any election will be provided in due course.
