Strathaven event signals fresh start for Women in Business
Published: Tuesday 31 May 2022
It’s been a challenging two years, particularly for women juggling caring, employment and business commitments.
But the time has finally come to step out of the shadows of COVID and back into the light. And Lanarkshire Women In Business (LWIB) has just the event to mark the occasion.
Join LWIB on Tues 14 June at The Strathaven Hotel from 11.30am till 1.30pm where organisers will be helping aspiring and existing local business women to re-group, raise energy and motivation levels and revitalise business goals.
Attendees will hear from two expert speakers on the day.
The first was recently voted amongst Insider’s Top 20 women to watch. Lynne Darcey Quigley, Founder & CEO of Blantyre commercial debt recovery specialists Darcey Quigley & Co, will share her business journey. This includes a recent move into the Financial Technology sector with new product Know-It. Hear from Lynne what the key ingredients for business success are and where the creative spark came from to branch into the tech sector.
The next speaker has worked with The House of Commons, appeared on TV & Radio as an authority on well-being at work & is a TedX speaker. Wendy Chalmers Mill of Positive Performance promises an uplifting session designed to instil a new zest for life, work & business amongst attendees. A Humanology trainer/coach, Wendy helps optimise human impact & investment through authentic leadership, improved communication, resilience & wellbeing.
Robert Brown, the chair of Community and Enterprise Resources, said: “I am delighted that the LWIB is running this event which I am sure will be of great benefit to everyone attending.
“Not only will the speakers be providing great inspirational insights into the world of business but the council’s business team will also be on hand to offer attendees support and advice about getting started or developing their existing enterprises.”
Attendees will also be able to keep up to date with Business Gateway Lanarkshire support services for new and growing businesses. This includes information on business start-up and growth grant funding available from North and South Lanarkshire Councils.
Lunch is included on the day.
