Road improvements for Lesmahagow
Published: Monday 3 November 2025
Improvements to a road in Lesmahagow are to take place this month.
In a bid to minimise disruption for residents, the work will be carried out over two phases:
- From Monday 10 November Bankhouse Residential Home Entrance to Netherhouse Road (Coney Road) will be closed.
- From Monday 17 November Bankhouse Residential Home Entrance to Abbeygreen will be closed.
No vehicles, except those involved in the work and the emergency services, will be able to park or drive on the closure section of the road during this time.
Those living within the closure area are advised to seek alternative routes where possible.
These include signed diversion routes using New Trows Road, the C202, Balgray Road, Abbeygreen Road, and Abbeygreen.
Colin Park, Head of Roads, Transportation, and Fleet Services, said: “We fully appreciate the inconvenience and frustration road closures cause, and we are grateful to motorists and residents for their cooperation.
“These works are essential to ensure safety in this area of Lesmahagow, and we hope that all who live on and use New Trows Road will agree that this temporary inconvenience will deliver important and lasting benefits.”
